Well it’s music’s biggest night again. I’ve made some picks and predictions on who I think should and will win some gold tonight and took a chance to mention those who got snubbed. Without further ado here it is!

Record of the Year:

  • B.O.B featuring Bruno Mars, “Nothin’ On You”
  • Eminem featuring Rihanna, “Love the Way You Lie”
  • Cee Lo Green, “F*** You” (Should Win)
  • Jay-Z featuring Alicia Keys, “Empire State of Mind”
  • Lady Antebellum, “Need You Now” (Will Win)

Snubbed: “Airplanes”, B.o.B ft. Hayley Williams

It was a huge year for rap, more specifically rap collaboration. While not one of my favorite songs of the year, there’s no denying that “Love The Way You Lie” should be on this list. In the end it will probably be down to either Em and Riri’s collaboration and Lady A’s huge hit. I’ll give “Need You Now” the edge though, since it’s more Grammy-friendly than a song about domestic abuse. Still, wouldn’t it be awesome it Green’s viral hit took it home? Oh, and how did “Nothin’ On You” get in here over B.o.B’s other huge hit; “Airplanes”? Or Gaga’s “Bad Romance” for that matter? (more…)

Well tonights MTV’s VMA show. Below I have listed my picks and commentary for certain categories that either interest me, has a decent video in it, or is Video of the Year.

Video Of The Year
Beyoncé – ‘Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It)’
Britney Spears – ‘Womanizer’
Eminem – ‘We Made You’
Kanye West – ‘Love Lockdown’
Lady Gaga – ‘Poker Face’

Well let’s see this is probably the weakest Video of the Year ever. There’s no videos here that I like, but since it’s the most important category I will pick my favorite out of this sad bunch. I did it by process of elimination, first of was “We Made You” which I detest, is disgusting, and not funny at all. Then there’s “Poker Face”, this video is just Lady Gaga trying to act rich and playing strip poker with a bunch of people. “Love Lockdown” is just a little too bizarre to be meaningful. Then there was two. I decided to give it Beyoncé, because quite simply I’d rather watch her video than Britney’s. “If I Were a Boy” would be much more worthy of this award though. (more…)
